Amelia Lerner is serious about squid, books, and very small things. She values funny above all else, most cheeses notwithstanding.
A graduate of Indiana University with an MA in Higher Education and Student Affairs from the University of Connecticut, Amelia was roped into the Atlanta arts scene via the Wren's Nest House Museum. There, she helped resurrect a neglected Atlanta institution through diligent attention to detail, administrative magic, and an unwavering commitment to awesomeness.
Among her diverse responsibilities at the Wren's Nest, Amelia established and managed two flourishing publishing programs that allow students from Atlanta-area schools to improve their writing and editing skills with the help of professional writers and artists. She also diligently blogged about the incomparable challenges one finds while reviving a house museum. Somewhat related, if you need vomit cleaned out of your museum's vents, ask someone else because she's already checked that off her bucket list.
Amelia is a native of the north shore of Chicago. This is her first foray into the theatre world, but she's no stranger to raising funds and telling dirty jokes. In addition to being responsible for the special events (hi, BaconFest!), fundraising, and grant writing at Dad’s Garage, Amelia is particularly adept at on-the-fly grammar fixes and impromptu spelling bees.
And thanks for asking, but her book club dance card is full.
