How many laughs can we fit into 23 consecutive minutes of comedy improv?
This competitive improv show challenges teams of improvisers to bet it all on their ability to create four outrageously hilarious scenes spread across 23 minutes—not a second more, and not a second less. Each quartet of scenes are scrutinized under the critical eyes of our hosting judge, and the winning team advances as the champion of Catch-23.
Who will hit the 23-minute cap with laughs to spare? Who will come up a moment late and a chuckle short? And who will bust in a spectacular overbid of overlong comedy? The audience wins no matter what hand you’re dealt!
Our Current Champions: Ed, Tom, and Rueben!
Back in the day, the three eponymous knuckleheads of Ed, Tom, and Rueben proved that nobody else could generate an absurd amount of laughter from an arbitrary number of scenes constrained within an esoteric time management requirement quite like they could. Now, their titles as masters of weirdly specific performance constraints is on the line: the winning team of this series of Catch23 will take on ETR for ALL the marbles!
Catch23 was originally created by Toronto-based Comedy Bar. But we love it, so we’re doin’ it here, too!
