Dad's Garage is taking Invasion Christmas Carol to New York!
On Monday, November 3, we'll be hosting two private readings at Open Jar Studio in New York City of Invasion Christmas Carol. For over a decade, this show has been a consistent box-office success, with sold-out runs and an audience base that returns year after year. Now, we’re preparing to bring it Off-Broadway.
The concept is both familiar and fresh: our cast performs a scripted version of Dickens’ A Christmas Carol—until a surprise “invader” character enters the story. The invader is new to the play (anyone from Elmo to Ted Lasso), completely improvised, and unknown to the rest of the cast. From that moment, the ensemble must weave the character into the story while staying on script in the world of Dickens. The result is a mix of classic theatre and live improvisation that audiences can’t get enough of.
This reading is designed to give potential investors a first look at the show and its commercial viability. It will be a lively, joyful event—and a chance to see why we’re confident Invasion Christmas Carol can succeed in the New York market.
