Writing for Performance
Write Club Atlanta, the world's premiere high octane live reading series, is here to teach you all of the intricacies of writing for live performance! This class is perfect for writers, performers, and anyone looking to hone and feel more comfortable in their own voice. Maybe you’re a writer hoping to feel more confident on stage, maybe you’re a performer wanting to brush up your own written content; we’ve got something here for you. Students will take part in guided writing and performance exercises each week. Whether you’re looking to sharpen your skills for storytelling events or building a solo show, we're confident this class will help you discover and celebrate your own unique voice.
Teacher bio: Dani Herd (they/he) is a producer and host of Write Club Atlanta. In addition to his work with Write Club, Dani has performed on stage with Joy Deficit, The Come Up, Monster Show for Monsters, Scene Missing Presents, and more. Their one-person show about being trans and loving Spider-Man, "a story in three peters parker," received the Producers' Choice Award at the 2022 Atlanta Fringe Festival and was most recently performed at Kennesaw State University. Dani has a B.A in English Literature-Creative Writing from Agnes Scott College.
